The Log Church: Upcoming Events and Opportunities

Greetings, Church Family!

​The Log Church’s newsletter dated March 7, 2025, includes several important announcements and events:​

Upcoming Sermon Series: “Fish Stories”

Starting Sunday, March 9, the church will begin a new sermon series on the Book of Jonah, exploring deeper insights beyond the familiar children’s story.​

Celebration of Life for Bob Westlund

A service to honor Bob Westlund is scheduled for Friday, March 7, at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary, followed by a dessert reception in the Fellowship Hall. Donations can be made payable to the “Family of Bob Westlund.”​

Youth Group Fundraiser

On Saturday, March 15, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the TLC Youth Ministry Group will serve food at the strip mall housing Common Goods and Andy’s Restaurant in downtown Crosslake. Youth can sign up with Pastor Mike to participate and raise funds.​

St. Patrick’s Day Parade Participation

The church seeks additional participants to walk or ride in the upcoming parade. A sign-up clipboard will be available during worship services for those interested in showing support for The Log Church.​

ABIDE: Evening of Worship & Prayer

An evening dedicated to worship and prayer is planned for Monday, March 17, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the sanctuary. All are invited to join.​

Daylight Saving Time Reminder

Congregants are reminded to set their clocks forward one hour on Sunday, March 9, as Daylight Saving Time begins.​

Wednesday Night Activities (March 12)

• Meal: Served from 5:30 to 6:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall, featuring meatballs in gravy, mashed potatoes, corn, rolls, fruit, lemonade, and dessert. A donation of $5 per person or $10 per family is suggested.​

• Youth Group: Discussion on “I am … the Door,” exploring the metaphor used by Jesus.​

• Kids Club and Bible Studies: Sessions for men and women will commence at 6:30 PM.​

• Sunday, March 9: Pre-service prayer at 9:00 AM; Worship service at 9:30 AM.​

• Monday, March 10: Men’s Growth Group at 6:30 AM; Monday Night Encounter at 5:00 PM.​

• Tuesday, March 11: Men’s Breakfast Bible Study at 6:30 AM; Bone Builders and Women’s Bible Studies in the morning; Elder Board Meeting at 6:30 PM; AA Group at 7:00 PM.​

• Wednesday, March 12: Facilities Meeting at 12:30 PM; Evening meal and various group activities starting at 5:30 PM.​

• Friday, March 14: Sewcial Squares at 9:30 AM.​

• Saturday, March 15: Men’s Prayer & Pickleball at 7:00 AM.​

Devotion: Doing God’s Will (Part 2)

The newsletter continues a discussion on discerning and executing God’s will, emphasizing daily seeking through prayer and Bible study, testing perceived directions against Scripture and with trusted individuals, and taking intentional action to follow through.​

Breeze Text Messaging Approval

Members are encouraged to return the “Breeze Text Messaging Approval Form.” Those who missed the email can contact the office for assistance.​

Youth Group Online Auction Fundraiser

From March 16 at noon to March 23 at noon, the Youth Group will host an online auction to raise funds for disaster relief efforts in Moore, Oklahoma. The auction will feature items, services, and contributions from area businesses.​
