Jesus’ letter to Thyatira reveals a loving, faithful church compromised by tolerated sin. Commended for growing deeds, love, and perseverance, they are warned against false teaching that leads to immorality. Christ calls His people to repentance, holiness, and steadfast truth, promising authority and the Morning Star to those who endure.

Jesus loves the church, His bride, and speaks with the sharp, double-edged sword of God’s Word. Though Pergamum held fast under persecution, they tolerated false teaching. Christ draws a clear line: repentance is required, for truth matters more than comfort, culture, or acceptance in the face of spiritual compromise today.

Jesus’ letter to Smyrna speaks to a church under crushing pressure—poor, slandered, persecuted—yet spiritually rich. He offers no rebuke, only encouragement: do not fear suffering. Be faithful, even unto death. The trial is limited, the victory assured, and a victor’s crown awaits those who endure through Christ who conquered death.

Jesus commends the Ephesian church for hard work, perseverance, and guarding truth, yet confronts them for abandoning their first love. Faithful doctrine without love leads to emptiness. Christ calls them to remember, repent, and return to wholehearted devotion, warning that loveless obedience risks losing their lampstand before judgment finally falls.

Isaiah foretold a coming King. Born in Bethlehem, Jesus fulfilled prophecy, lived among humanity, died for sin, and rose again. Yet the story continues. The same Jesus who came in humility will return in glory, gathering His people, judging the world, and establishing everlasting peace according to God’s eternal promises.

God has given us gifts—our skills, passions, time, treasure, and mission—not for ourselves, but to serve others and glorify Him. As faithful stewards of God’s grace, we offer these gifts back to Him, trusting that in serving Christ, we receive eternal blessing.

This Advent we ask, What gift do we bring? God desires the gift of our life. Putting Jesus first, living for His glory, and offering ourselves as living sacrifices align us with our design: worship, love God and people, obey freely, live devotedly, and walk with thankful hearts always faithfully.

The wise men traveled far, following God’s sign, simply to worship Jesus. Their gifts—gold, frankincense, and myrrh—recognized Him as King, God, and Savior. Herod feared Him, but they bowed before Him. True wisdom still seeks Christ, offering obedience and worship no matter the distance, cost, or obstacle.

Trust is vital in every relationship, yet easily broken in a world full of hurt. God calls us to align our hearts with Him, seek wisdom, speak truthfully, and listen with empathy. When we forgive, carry each other’s burdens, and work toward reconciliation, trust can be rebuilt and relationships restored.
