The August 21 edition of TLC CONNECT looks ahead to Sunday, with the sermon “Love Your Parents” from Exodus 20:12, focusing on the biblical responsibility to honor and care for our parents. The church will also hold a brief congregational meeting following worship to vote on new members and share church updates.
The newsletter highlights several upcoming events, including a Mindful Estate Planning Seminar on Thurs., August 27h, covering wills, trusts, probate, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and leaving a legacy. The church will also welcome True North Ranch Ministries, supported missionaries serving in the local community. The Heart of the City Worship Band will return Sunday, August 30th.
The schedule for the coming week, including worship, Bible study, leadership meetings, and other regular activities. Youth Group will not meet August 26th because of a leaders meeting, and Wednesday evening programs and meals will resume September 23rd.
A major feature is the upcoming Trauma Care “Healing Conversations” training on September 18th and 19th. The training will equip participants to compassionately support people experiencing grief, difficult diagnoses, and other life-changing hardships. The newsletter emphasizes that caring for hurting people reflects Christ’s love and creates opportunities to share the Gospel. The page also includes a devotional, Wait With Me for A While, encouraging patience, trust, joy, and peace.
